The Executive Coaching landscape
Over the past 15 years, Executive Coaching has gained enormous popularity in the UK, US and Australia.
Although Executive Coaching shares many of the same basic tenets found in modern Leadership paradigms, most Senior Executives prefer coaching over more traditional learning modes because they are able to learn through experience and they find the opportunity to have immediate one-on-one learning very powerful. Executives like coaching because it’s often quicker, more intensive and more relevant to them than other modes of learning. It also tends to be more “discrete” than traditional training modes.
Recent studies undertaken in Australia highlight the benefits of coaching in terms of building individual wellbeing, goal focus, goal striving and resilience. In addition, studies in the US are showing that coaching can be well worth the investment through reduced staff turnover, increased efficiencies and improved results.
As the Coaching industry in Australia remains fragmented and unregulated, what tends to distinguish providers from one another is the calibre and experience of the coaches, the techniques employed to keep the coaches skill base at the cutting edge, access by the coaches to specialist internal resources, and the coaching program’s overall flexibility in approach.
Red Pill Performance Consultants was established in 2004 in response to the growing need for Executive Coaching services that go beyond the “softer skills” currently on offer and intertwine core business expertise with the psychology of change and building sustainability.
